Alexandra Palace South Terrace
A 1,500-square-metre south-facing platform perched on one of North London's highest points. The sightline to St Paul's Cathedral is a GLA Protected Vista — no future development can obstruct it. From the terrace: the Shard, Gherkin, BT Tower, Canary Wharf, St Pancras clock tower, and on clear days the Crystal Palace transmitter on the far horizon. The foreground drops through 196 acres of Alexandra Park, giving depth and layering to wide shots. Behind, the palace's Victorian brick facade and arched windows provide period-architecture framing. Morning light illuminates the skyline (sun behind you); golden hour catches warm lateral light across the city. Fully open-air with no overhead cover; wind significant at this elevation. No barriers or railings obstructing the view. The terrace doubled as the 1893 Chicago World's Fair in The Current War (2017). Public restrooms via East Lightwell entrance.
